Jurgen Fütterer is interventional radiologist, full professor at the Department of Medical Imaging, Radboudumc, and at the Robotics and Mechatronics group, University of Twente.
He qualified at Radboud University Nijmegen in 2001, and completed his PhD on MRI techniques in the localization and staging of prostate cancer in 2006.
He completed fellowships in interventional radiology and body MRI in 2009.
Prof. Fütterer is internationally recognized as one of the leading interventional radiologists in MRI-guided interventions and focal therapy for prostate cancer.
Prof. Fütterer is the founder and principal investigator of the Minimally Invasive Image-Guided Interventions Center (MAGIC) research group at the Radboudumc.
Prof. Fütterer's group also has a strong participation in the Radboudumc's MITeC innovative operating rooms.
The MITeC is an acknowledged international reference site for image-guided therapy and, in a partnership with Siemens Healthineers, strives to develop and extend the use of minimally invasive interventions.
